Im in Shropshire.....

Just put a friends Snap On scanner, showed passenger occupancy fault which it wouldnt clear. Just popped to Tesco, got back in car and plugged the passenger seat belt in before starting the car thinking maybe its confused and wants the passenger to wear a belt....... no srs! Whats that all about?

I have one (and a few other readers as well as Star) and its pretty reasonable.
As a reader it probably has around 90% of STAR but with none of the other stuff STAR can do (activations, coding, guided diagnostics etc).
I keep mine in the car as a portable tool when out and about.

As above - I'm just near M1 J18 if you want it cleared and are prepared to drive over (just not this weekend).

I'm half thinking of upgrading mine to MB-II but not decided as yet.

Am i right in saying these cars can reset themselves once the problems fixed? I didnt think the srs would go out on its owe but mine just did.....

Some faults will auto reset but some won't. It depends on what the fault is.

Will bear you in mind if I upgrade

I have one for the CLS but have not used it in anger yet , however i had a Airbag fault on my sons Clio that i was struggling to pinpoint so i bought the i907 for the Renault and it took me straight to the fault - Drivers side impact sensor , £10 from the scrappy and all was good.

I believe that if you have access to star you can code out the occupancy sensor as well.

My SRS light goes on and off according to the lunar cycle or something similar.

Just looking on ebay- what else scan wise works well on Mercs? Widening my search to hopefully scoop a bargain. Seems to be hundreds of cheap Chinese ones out there claiming to work miracles!

The cheap Chinese ones will only read generic codes and not manufacturer specific ones. They're of very limited use.
