Hi All,

A little help please... I've been trying to find where a certain part goes on my car. I found it whilst vacuuming the car under the driver seat... for the life of me I cant figure out what it is or where it goes???

As you can see there is a number on it and a 'R' (I found the one with 'L' too). Tried to check the part number but nothing comes up!

I can take some more shots if it helps! Thanks in advance.

Titch

That's not the part number, which should start with 230 for your car at a guess.

Malcolm, what about the seat base assy, anything on there look similar?

Yup, it's A SL55. Thought it wasn't a part number but it must be some kind of identification number? Nothing seems to be missing anywhere on the car.. Unless I'm having a blonde moment!

Definitely nothing missing on the seat. I thought it maybe something from the boot. The mystery deepens.... Lol

It might be the manufacturer's internal part number.

You said there's R & L, are there two parts?

As before I have had all the seats apart on many, never seen that,, not sure that it is a Mercedes part number.

The only part number I can find with that is a "Hammer Face Kit" so I guess it isn't that.

The back of a telly remote oofa doofer?

They are not from the inside or the boot as I have gutted both a few times.

Put them on Ebay for £50 :)

The plastic trim that is shown on the first post was made in August 2002.
That's my only input on this one

Looks to me more like something that finishes the inner sill, near the rear seat.

Perhaps where the plastic sill cover (the part you see when you open the door and look where you step over into the car) stops, that looks like an end.

I could be wrong, but either that or the bottom of the "B" pillar...

And finally, where the rear seat base meets the car, mine has all manner of plastic finishers, but then again, mine has split folding rear seats.

Either that or some bugger threw them under the seat just before you turned up to buy it so it would confuse you somewhere down the line

No rear seat, no B pillars and not from the inside anywhere on a 230, not from the boot either
