Hi All, new member seeking help

My 190e (1988) inj, is giving me hell.. I have done what the guys before me have, i.e. replaced coil, dis cap, leads plugs, and am still not getting start up. I am getting poor sparking (yellow) and have been told to renew the electronic control unit on the inner wing(little black socket that runs a lead to the dizzy. Fuelis getting there and the timing is spot on,

really desperate now, hope someone out there can assist.

many thanx :)

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

You seem to have done all the right things and assuming you have used the correctly specced parts. I think it is time to get a professional diagnosis and get the thing on a scope.

For sure, if you have a weak spark it is the HT side - Coil, rotor arm, dizzy cap, HT lead and spark plug - the ecu is not going to diminish the spark itself just the 'when' or timing.

A good tuning shop should suffice - maybe even a mobile.

Let us know how you get on.

Ignition

Many thanks for the reply normanb.

Dont suppose you know anything about the black (getronic) box under the passenger carpet do you. Two wires stem from this to the battery, and i dont know what they do?

Cheers again

Mike :)

Hi All, :)

Just thought id let you know the answer, really weird one too. Plugs were showing resistance on 2, and 2 were not???

Put 2 old plugs back in (same type i might add, same gap etc..) and the damn thing fired up!!

after all that bmessing, could not believe it.

Honest.

thanks
