I'm Leaving the fold after 10 Brilliant Years....Yes I may regret it...but time has come to say goodbye...I've bought a little VW Tiago...https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208048452507
I have had a new W204 Black 2012 C220 AMG Line Premier Plus Saloon...Then a Beautiful Blue C220d S205 which again was new in 2015...I got £18k in p/x for the Taigo...so pretty happy to have only depreciated £21k in 7 years...I'm 70 soon and just don't need such a large car...The Taigo is only a 1.0 petrol DSG but drives lovely and makes the Merc seem dated...I will still be on here as made some good friends over time and will update you all on how the drop in class feels over time:

That is quite a contrast going from a 2.1 four pot to a 1.0 three pot, not a move that I would want to take though. Had a few VW's in my time and liked them all apart from the water leaks in an EOS, generally good build quality, and the tech in a modern VW is now up to scratch.

Hope all is as you had hoped for.

I joined the Taigo forum yesterday...nothing like this one...but its early days as only 95 members...the model is new so it will take time

Sadly in my daughters ownership of a Polo I found there wasn't a decent VW forum... certainly if you take this one and those for BMW as a benchmark.

I found the same with Audi, when we owned an A5 there was nothing like this forum. I even remember asking on here, and no suggestions came up.

Defender forum is pretty good, international no less. I get good replies from all over the world.

Daughter has that engine - 110PS version which I think is same as in OPs car - in a SEAT Ateca 6 speed manual.

It's not a "ball of fire" of course but I have to say it drives very well with quite a lot of torque low down.

For no particular reason we'd no history of VAG group cars in our extended family until a few years ago when our daughter got an Ibiza, then a Golf and now the Ateca. My wife has a Tiguan now too.

The dealers can be pretty iffy for service- the SEAT one is terrible but they're quite thin on the ground now, and I won't set foot in our local VW dealer, I use one a little further away where I've managed to develop a relationship with the service manager, but the work they do is still questionable.

The only VW forum I subscribed to was for the Eos and that was quite fun. A lot of real characters on there. One I particularly remember was a guy from Arizona, I often wonder whether he is still with us
