Hi all,
Hope someone can help me.
I recently bought a W140 S320, the electric windows suddenly stopped working and also the radio.
I started the car and left it running while I removed and tested and replaced the fuses in the boot, There was no power going to the fuses.
After stopping the engine and removing the key the car will now not start and the alrm is constantly resetting itself.
I have tried doing what I read from the internet a while ago which is quoted below.

"Unlock car disconnect the battery. for at least 1 hour.. Make sure nothing is on.Reconnect then run throught setup routine lock and unlock the door from the outside with the button on the keyfob, not with the key..do this twice at least with a couple of mins between.sit in drivers seat then wind drivers window down, and exit car, close door, hold keyfob next to door handle press and hold button.. system will lock, then window will go up. then immobiliser will set itself on. if the window does not go up..you have problem.. now put key in ignition.. turn to position 1 single red light.. listen you will hear relays etc stay there for 30 seconds..then to position 2 all dash lights again at least 30 seconds. now turn off remove key.. listen.. 90 seconds now put key in turn pos1 ten sec then 2 ten sec then 3.. and you should be running"

The interior mirror red and green lights kep flashing when I try to synchronise the key using the fob.
At the moment the battery is disconnected and on charge and I will refit it and try again tonight after work.
Any advice would be very much appreciated
Kind regards

Hi All

I have tried both methods below but to no avail.

I might add that it was fuses numbered 5, 6 and 16 that I removed and replaced.
Kind regards

W140 Immobiliser problem

Hi,
I do not know the year exactly as I have not yet got the reistration document and the car has a personalised reg plate on it.
I think it is about 1996
Maybe you can tell the year of the car from the VIN No which is
WDB 1400322A129002

The key is a black rectangular fob with a flip out flat blade and contains 2 off batteries CR2025
there is a number seen inside when the key is flipped out which is:
14076003/0706

No power windows

:?:I might just add, before I had the problem with the immobiliser the windows stopped working. am I right in assuming that fuses 5 and 6 in the trunk are for the windows and does it have a relay to supply them or is there a master fuse located elsewhere ?
Regards

Many thanks for the link Television.

Thanks again.

The other thing to do is to disconnect the battery again for 10 mins and try again

Nearly there

Hi Television,
Update on my immobiliser problem.
Even though the remote key fob opened the doors and made the lights flash on the interior mirror I decided to fit new batteries to the fob.
And Hey Presto the immobliser problem was no more, yippee.
I still have the problem with no power to the window switches or the window fuses but not had much time to look into that and hopefully will at weekend.
Kind regards
Fazzah
