Hie,
Iam a new member and iam sorry to trouble you guys, but i need help. I have an old C 200 and it just would start, with green and red light flashing on view mirror. First the battery appeared flat and i had to jump start it 3 times, i then bought a new battery which was fixed at Halfords, it started then, but when i parked it at home, thats when it just went dead. Up to now, it wont start, AA guy said i had to take it to MB, The key fob dont seem to work either as the light doesnt even flash, i changed the battries, no change still, please help.

Disconnect battery for 10 sec, press the remote key up to 100 times to desynchronize the alarm.

To synchronize, point key at a receiver, press button momentarily, point window in remote at the receiver in mirror, press button twice, turn the key to ign 2 within the next 30 seconds

Hold the remote in front of a digital camera and you will see the beam if it is working

I hope iam not sounding to daft  but, if it doesnt work, i mean the fob, does this mean the problem cannot be fixed by me, or there is another way round it.

If the fob is faulty then a replacement will be the only way to go. The camera test will show if an IR beam is being emitted, but even then the coding can be out. If the locking was OK before the battery went down on the car, its odd for the key to have failed,, is your key the metal version or the all plastic

Hi
Actually when i got the car, the central locking wasnt working, so i had to lock it manually, never used the fob before, and the key fob is plastic. i don't even know if it has an alarm because i never set one.
