One of the major complaints about the standard (non Bose/HK) Comand/AGW sound output is the lack of volume from the small speakers mounted high up in the rear wall behind the seats. When coupled with the inability to adjust their output level, this can lead to a perceived lack of the 'surround sound' experience.
Until lockdown I had never thought much about this (after all car audio is not exactly a HiFi experience), but looking for something to do to the motor I latched onto the possibility of improving this problem.
Some research came up with the PowerBass S 275CF series speakers, freely available in the USA but also obtainable in the UK. These speakers are about 2ce as sensitive as the OEM fitment and are pretty much a drop in replacement.
A day's work to install them has led to a marked improvement in volume from the cabin rear, much improving the spacial audio experience.
Altogether a worthwhile gain from the £37 speaker cost.
