independant in Bristol

Does anybody out there know of a good independant MB servicing facility in Bristol?. I have gone through the yellow pages but can't find any.

There's only 2 that I know of.

Steve Bateman who has a unit on the Central Trading Estate, Bath Rd, Brislington. (Merc/Volvo + Italian car specialist)

Plus, there's a company called Parkway Automobile Engineering in Fishponds. (Merc + BMWs)

For a city the size of Bristol you would have thought there would be more choice, but unfortunately not.

Thanks for the info, I did see Batemans in the yellow pages but i was looking for somewhere that just specializes in MB. I might take a look at both facilities to see what they are like. Have you used them?
It seems there is a business opportunity going in Bristol for a team of MB technicians to start up!!!

I agree. Someone could make a lot of money if they set up in Bristol!!

I've always used Steve Bateman because he's close to my work. I was recommended by other colleagues. He's always been fine with the servicing and repair work on my previous estate. He's quite cheap as well (around £35 per hour). Just to warn you that if you meet him, he's a very quet sort of character, but don't let that put you off!!

To give you an example an oil and filter change was around £70-75 and the bigger service around £150 for my old 300te (+ VAT)

I rang then other place in Fishponds and they were quoting £110-115 and around £250 + VAT, respectively.

Or there's the dealership - apparently they offer a discount on their hourly rate for older cars, but it's still too steep!!

The other place was recommended on this forum.

And, if you're willing to travel, there's Andy Gale in the West Midlands who comes highly recommended.
