Hi,
It sounds liek you need a new stalk switch, I believe as well as being available from MB you could also try Euro car parts.
If the stalk switch is removed first before buying the replacement you maybe clean yours up as apparently the the grease goes hard inside the switch. Try WD40 into the guts of the switch.
You could always source a second hand one from

Or drop fellow forum member "Cosworth" as I believe he is breaking a W202.
Hope this has helped.

How To Open Indicator Stalk

Hi
Thanks for the reply but do you know how to open the stalk in order to spray on the wd40?
If you have any pictures or a step by step by guide it would be really helpful.

many thanks in advance

For gods sake dont use WD40, it will set in a few months and you will need a new switch.
The end cap can be levered off and access to some of the guts is then available, to get more access take off the stalk assy. Use something formulated specificaly for switch cleaning.

WD40 Setting I have never experienced that. I use to spray it all over my moto cross bikes and they would be left for months, and it never set, the only thing I ever noticed was It attracted dust.
