Looking to add a few extra hps, starting with the easiest and usually cheapest, air filter. K&N do a replacement filter, but not a 57i induction kit. Are there other kits out there? Any one else had success in tuning their CLK? Any ideas welcome. Car is a CLK 320 V6, 1998 Sport, which I believe produces 218bhp as standard.

Many thanks in advance, Mark

Tuning CLK 320

If it's a 3.2 V6 producing 218 bhp the engine's in a pretty soft state of tune and I would think it'd take more than an air filter change to make a discernible difference

Any induction kit that uses ram air effect is only going to produce more power at speed and within the limits of fuelling of the existing ECU map. And it may well kill some of the low-end power whilst doing so

If you chip the car I would think you could see (or rather feel) the difference. And with most chip suppliers you get an opportunity to see the difference before committing to the purchase

Of course with an induction kit you get that intake roar that makes you think you're going faster...

Thanks for your comments. Who are good chip suppliers?
