Info from MB dealer

Whilst enquiring as to the spec of a 2004 E320CDi the dealer over the phone (as he is some way from me) informs me that I can call a MB dealer with the reg number and they will give me the spec of the car as it was a Merc lease car.

I have asked for the VIN number but as he is not with the car over the next two days he cannot tell me.

Will a dealer be able to tell me what I want to know?

I couldnt find mine either. but isnt the VIN number under the Windscreen behind the dash or under the bonnet?
