C class/2017/220d
Hi everyone I just wanted some advised really as I just bought used c class 2017 model...however I feel I'm getting less mileage, My current mpg is about 39mpg at the best...this is me driving on eco mode and mostly dual carriage way route. On full tank received about 360 ish...First I was bit worried that if something was wrong but then I realised the new tank very small only 41 liters but despite that my merc is 220d engine which is supposed better at mpg then other diesel engine plus on paper is shows with car details online over all range is over 600 miles on C class with 41 liters fuel tank. Plus my mate got c class bit older with 66 liter tank they recieve more then 560+ on combined and sometimes 700 miles on long distances.

Just wanted some opinion or advised with someone got similar car as their experience with overall mpg really or should I take it to someone for diagnostic.

I’m getting about 47mpg from my 2017 CLS220d, it is a bit heavier than the C so I would have expected a little more.

41/66 X 560 miles is 347. You get 360.
You're doing slightly better than your mate given the smaller tank.

I also have one of these smaller tanks. Running it down until the reserve light pings on is generally about 350 miles. I managed 411 miles on a run home from Kent last month and that gave me 53.7MPG. I find that if I fill up when the reserve pings up, it takes about 32l. Over the last 23k miles, with mixed driving, I have averaged 45.4MPG.

I agree that the small tank is a nuisance, though!

I guess it's right then...I haven't done continuous long drive for that kind of distance but 411 miles that's good...I wait for reserved light too makes sense...plus I think they just made the tank smaller because of the extra adblue tank on the side...but still for a bigger car don't expect that...even my a3 about 9 liter bigger tank than c class

My last 205 had a large tank and an AdBlu tank. I think it might have been something to do with needing to include a battery for the hybrids and suspect MB may have been trying to get rid of a surplus of these tanks.
If I remember correctly, the small tank is standard and you have to pay a little more for the large one.
