injector problem

I've recently bought a 53 plate E320, now it runs great, pulls like a train, no warning lights but i noticed what seemed like a slight blow when i hit the loud pedal hard. it wasn't loud but in a car so quiet it was noticable, anyway i took the covers off the engine and #6 cylinder, the injector is covered in a hard black gunk and when i chip it off it looks like coal dust so it must have been doing it for a good while to get like that, but what is happening, when you hit the loud pedal hard is it is blowing smoke out past the injector my question is, has anyone else came across this and how hard is it to fix ?

The seal at the bottom of the injector is leaking. Renew the seal.

Aah the old black death rears its head, there are many many posts on the subject and many opinions.

They all have one thing in common it doesn't fix itself.

Youtube has many videos on the subject.

If, and it's definitely if there is no other damage it is easily fixable.
