Hi All,
I have a C Class (C200 CDI Sport Edition) on order for 1st of March, but it is coming with the Audio 20 system I think. I have factory fit sat nav in my current Audi, and upgraded to that myself from the standard head unit (this involved fitting a GPS antenae and splicing into the Can-Bus on the car, as well as recoding the system via VagCom software.
I have searched the net but cannot find any comprehensive guide to upgrading the standard head unit to the Comand.
The Apeture in the dash is the same size, so no trimming required, but does the Comand use the same connectors as the Audio 20 ? ie no special convertor loom required ? obviously a gps antanea would need to be added, but I would expect to be able to mount that under the dash somewhere.
I understand that some re-coding would be needed too, and that you cant buy the Mercedes software like you can with VAG cars ? so you have to have a dealer do that part for you.
Is there something Im missing here or is it just a case of sliding the old unit out, sliding the new one in, adding GPS and recoding it ?
