I fitted a paddles shift wheel to my CLS and had to get it programmed to get it to work.

Once all the money had been spent and many hours of research had been done along with a 880 mile round trip for the programming i hardly used it , shifts were no quicker than using the Tip function which was pedestrian to say the least so just left the car in D and let the torquey motor do its thing.

Yeah the programming is not a problem for me as I live 10 mins from the garage but just needed to know if it was possible just to straight swap and program but a few people have said I need the control spiral and the angle sensor for it to work as mine is standard clk 320 so would need these to apparently

Cant comment on the CLK but the CLS paddles plugged into the back of the original airbag and once programmed worked fine , no other hardware changes were required.

I presume it is possible, but may not be worth it.
contact a chap called Chris Messmer in the USA. Comandonline may also be able to help. Get WIS & EPC.
I needed all of this when I Installed Flappy Paddles on my R230. Chris Messmer was very helpful.
I use mine from time to time to anticipate what the car cannot know/see

I hope it’s that easy but I doubt it
