Installing new injectors

Does this have to be done by STAR ??? or can they be just installed and away you go ?

If by STAR, can this be done by other diagnostics ??

What are the implications if STAR isn't used ??

On top on the injector is a number 1 - 4, this is the timing number, if you replace a injector with the same number, then nothing ease to do, if the injector has a different number, then the number has then got to be changed in the ecu using star!!

Injector x reference bosch numbers

I have contacted an injector reconditioner regarding price and they have come back with the following:

i can supply you with 6 of the 0445110096 for £480 including postage,
outright. i've got a customer who has a fleet of mercedes cdi's and he
use's 0445110108's on the engine number you have provided. he says they run
better with them in. i supply him those at £65 a unit. i can supply you
with these for £390 for 6 including the postage. all the best

My engine is a OM 613916
0445110096 = A6130700587, but EPC has replaced this with A6130700887 (which is also listed for a 612.981 engine)

but can someone tell me what 0445110108 is in MB part number ?

but can someone tell me what 0445110108 is in MB part number and whether they can tell if they are suitable for my engine ???
