Instrument Cluster Reset To factory Settings

Please help. I have reset my instrument cluster back to factory settings by accident and it is now displaying everything in German. I have lost my instruction manual and cant get it back to English. It is a 2003 E270cdi.

Go to the time and date menu, and the language is there.

need to reset the instrument itself as previous owner replaced it with a second hand one and i tink that malfunction could have been off that.

The cluster needs to be programmed up by the sound of it. You can't simply swap them in. The cluster are self conatined computers and need to know what car they're in and what accessories (phone, satnav, Convenience pack etc) are fitted. To do this I'm afraid you'll need someone with a star machine - so a dealer or indie merc specialist.

As Jberks above , the info from your old cluster is downloaded into STAR and put into the new cluster, though there are limitations of what can be transferred
