Hello hello,

I have just had my renewal through from esure, but I've just weighed the E220 in for the 420SE and they won't insure the SE as it's too old(!).

I've had a go on a couple of price comparison websites, but the quotes are all a fair bit more than I was hoping for. I don't do many miles, maybe 3-4000 a year, so a classic policy might be in order, although it is my only car and I know some classics places insist that you have another motor on the road as a daily driver.

So, to sum up; who should I try.....?

Cheers! :)

Hi,

Try Swiftcover. They were the cheapest when I was shopping around, even when compared with classic car insurance, and they have some good features despite the low pricing, eg protected NCB, legal expenses cover, mirrored NCB on second car, etc, etc.

I originally got classic car insurance with Adrian Flux, but they soon turned out to be more like Adrian Flux-it-Up, so I cancelled for a full refund and went with Swiftcover.

I did once have trouble with Adrian Flux-it-up as well but they did insure my 560sel for only a couple of hundred quid for third party only on a limited mileage policy. One company, I recall, wanted over £10,000 to insure it. About 10 times its value.
