I've been on comparison websites as my insurance is due in a few days.Churchill looked ok so I went onto their website & got as far as the review part,just before you pay & noticed my car had changed from E500 to E350.
So I rang them & told the bloke of the problem.After giving him my reg he said it's ok I've got it now,E500 125 Sport Coupe 5461cc.What's the 125 I said?....That's the BHP he told me.
Trying not to laugh I asked him if he'd seen the cc & decided maybe Churchill wasn't for me so said goodbye.
How do these clowns get into these jobs?
125 means it's 2011 from the 125th anniversary & my car is 2010.

Many people, especially the younger generation, have no idea what engine is in their car or what cc of bhp stand for, all they care about is the monthly PCP payment and whether it will play nicely with their latest phone. Judging by some of the question here, some also just make assumptions about that.

That's why BMW were able to go FWD on their latest 1 series because, when asked, the majority of their target market thought the previous model was FWD.

Provided they have listed the car correctly as in E500 125 and the correct cc then you would be covered. I suggest the chump on the phone didn’t know, but the underwriters do - if they are a way cheaper and have listed the car correctly - go for it!

I had a little chuckle about your phone conversation.
Just an observation on what you said above though, try not to leave it so late to get quotes because prices tend to rise the closer you get to your renewal date.
The ideal time to be checking is around 3 weeks before your renewal date when you should get the best prices...plus it gives you plenty of time to sort it out.

I found Churchill to be OK to be honest, SWMBO has had 2 x incidents and they handled it all very smoothly

Following the positive reports on here I went back to Churchill but the price went up by £30 so I renewed with my existing broker.
