It must be the car as your postcode will be okay and your age isn't yet too much of a factor Rog.

So it must be the car, the profile of the owner who 'typically' drives one and the profile of the scumbags who 'typically' try to steal or damage it.

LV are a solid insurer and as you said local!
You could always just drop in on the roundabout if you ever had to ...

Is your favourite immob and tracking system going on?
I would recommend you also add a visual deterrent as well such as Stop lock when parked at home and overnight elsewhere if you don't already have one

Stop lock

I have one on my more lowly AMG
And because it is a little more lowly, I pay less than 25% of what you're paying, so they must have some "experience" with E63s 's

I believe my age is a big factor now Jon. 76 in November and a 600+bhp car must make insurers nervous:p
Yes, my favourite immobiliser is being fitted and Im exploring this tracking system

A near neighbour who owns a nice C43 has this system and reckons its the dogs danglies. Mobile phone alerts if the car is moved and an app to control it.
Can be removed and transferred to another car.
With the immobiliser fitted having visual deterrent is just a bit too time consuming for me.

You jest but my Aunt tried to get temporary insurance for her 84 year old partner on an E-type Jag as a birthday present (1 day hire) and it was point blank refused!

Sad really as driving one had been a life long ambition :-(.

I believe you. It's sad when insurance is refused, but I'm sure there is a broker somewhere that could find insurance for her. But the premium might be limiting.

I'd probably be paying similar to you if I were 15 years younger. Alas, becoming an old grunter has its negatives when it comes to insurance premiums.
Mine seemed to decrease gradually up to the age of 68/69 then a gradual increase. Anyway, at least I can still get insurance;)

My Dad is 95 and has no problem insuring his 1.6 Golf. My Mum is pushing 90 and she told me her premium on her Focus went up last year. I asked her how much she was paying, and she said it's gone way over £100, up to £120 now. I said that's not bad.

So do not worry, 75 is young, these days. More and more people are over 90, and the insurance companies have realised they can't ignore their business. Most are very safe drivers. My parents do not go far, or fast. An insurers dream, I would say.
