Is there anything like this in the UK? While I don't have an immediate interest in this activity, it would be interesting to see what is involved. Interesting talk about open source hardware and the likes.

There are lots of companies doing electric conversions to classic cars. They are not cheap though, budget c 20K in parts alone.

Yea fair enough.. I am more interested in the process of removing the engine and how the drivetrain is adapter with a motor and the ancillaries that go along with it.

There are companies doing conversions on the good old TX4 Taxi - Black Cabs. Cost around £39,000. The battery pack is £25K ! That will give you a range of 130 miles......

Jaguar Land Rover will do you a fully electric E-type if you ask them to.
Harry and Meghan's wedding E-type was electric.

If you read the article there is a suggestion Norway supplies crashed Tesla and other parts for little or nothing, that seems unlikely.

He can help to locate and supply the huge amount of parts available for little to no cost that can be reused and repurposed to keep existing vehicles on the road. He has managed to convert a BMW 3 series into a usable electric car for €1000

This is something we do. So far, to motorbikes, but have some things in the pipelines for a 123 and 201.
