Interesting wiper bodge

2 inches from your rear bumper
My '96 W202 has obviously suffered a failed wiper mechanism at some point, because it's been interestingly bodged. The arm now rests on the passenger side, it works without going into the corners, and around 3 inches have been cut off the blade to make it fit. I didn't notice this until I went to change the wiper. It seems to pass MOT's, just wondered if anyone else has seen this.

Think again.

The mechanisms on these are extremly expensive and therefore retain there value used/salvage.

these cars are in every salvage yard and the prices have came down.......

OK in that case, I'll ask Nicky to find me one if mine fails!

Yes, get me a couple too, I want another 100K out of this car. Better get me an autobox too (£50 cover it?)

If you want the wiper set up let me know and i will put you in touch with a breaker that has one,,,,,i think you are taking the pi** at £50 for an autobox now..you must be getting ripped of for spares down in England....

Nicky,
I don't think we appreciate sometimes how fortunate we are up here. Not only used spares-wise, but I've noticed from several posts that refinishing costs in particular down south are a rip-off. Someone recently paid £500 for a bonnet repaint and was delighted!
Only downside up here we don't seem to have any specialist breakers of our brand. (Unless anyone knows differently, and lets me know please?)
