Interior light and mirror removal E500

How can I remove, or get inside the interior light apparatus on my 2003 E500? I want to hook a radar detector stationed at the top of my mirror to the hot lead for my roof top opener but can't see a way to take this apart.

Have you ever pulled this off before?

I don't have the wedge tool to remove the light/rain sensor cover but it appears it just wedges if off. I pulled on it pretty solidly with my fingers since I can get under the edge of the cover but am afraid to break the plastic. It just seems like it is really bolted on there through some grabbing plastic pins.

They can be tight,I use one of the old bone handles kitchen knives and a teflon spatula, if no screws mentioned,,then no screws.

It can be nerve racking taking these things off
