Regarding my previous post, this is what I mean.
I have attached 2 photos one old interior which is like mine (1994) and one new interior with carbon (1998)
Supose it looks better with the whole interior fitted. Although my dad used to have a 99 elegance (loaded), and the interior looked more classy, with the BURR WALNUT. Way nicer than his earlier 94 elegance one.
I guess growing up with Mercs since the late 70's, a carbon dash in a merc always looked wrong - like plastic. I couldn't even get used to the black wood in the avant garde, I just like the walnut - clean it with a decent furniture polish and it always looks classy. Shame as the avantgarde looks better from the outside. I'd just like one with a walnut dash!
I'll go get my pipe and slippers....
Euro car parts used to sell conversion trim kits for various older models they were called "woodlook kits" but included aluminium and carbon fibre "looks" also. you wont find them in the catalogue best to phone head office in Wembley 02089565000 for availability. Cant comment on their quality. If you do go ahead remember this might affect the resale value later. so best to keep the old trim.
