Interior trim 'paint' repair?

Hi.
Does anyone know of a way of re-coating or touching up areas of interior trim?
My SLK has the two-tone cream/black interior and, particularly on the drivers door pull, the cream coating is a little worn with the black base colour is showing through. There are also a few chips on the centre armrest.
This seems to be a problem I have noticed on a few SLKs with the cream or red panels.
I spoke to one of the dealers who recommended replacing the entire door panel (well they would, wouldn't they!) but surely there must be a product somewhere to tidy these parts a little?
Any help or advice appreciated.

Yes there are things out there, take care ,you have both vynal and leather, try The complete automoblist, Huntingdon. There is also a firm called Woolies, that has the kits, a search under leather restoration will bring many up, or get a vintage or Classic car magazine.

Thanks guys.
I have heard of vinylkote from many years ago when I was into classics.
Its one of those "when I get round to it" jobs, but when I do, I'll post again with the results.

We will never know, do you have some problems on this front

I do have a few areas that are damaged by a dog. The colour coat has been abraded through and may need a local repair. The dealer wants to reconnolise the whole interior, which I am very wary of...

I was right to be wary. The leather has been cleaned by what looks like some sort of acid! It has left the leather patchy and marked and the where the treatment has gone into the creases, the leather is considerably lighter than the surrounding leather. I'm living with it for now, but want to treat it to stop the seats from falling apart and looking awful. I'm thinknig liquid leather might be the answer, and if that fails, a dye job...
