Hiya

Cars just ran out of warrnty and brake pedal sqeak when the pedal comes back up. Started a few days ago, but does not happen all the time.

Any ideas re above please?

BTW - car I dive is W203, 53 pate 180K

The tyres wear out quickly on the front o/s passenger side, and I have been told that this is a w203 trait :(

They'll be a sprint and pivot somewhere near the top of the pedal needing a tiny bit of WD40. You'll have to get your head into the footwell, and armed with a torch you should be able to see where the squeak is coming from.

Whatever you do, don't get the lube on the pedal rubber - or you foot will slip off at the wrong time

that's exactly what happened when you use wd40. wd40 is penatrated oil what removes grease... nice to use if you want to losen a rusty bold. use chain grease spray... you can buy that in a cycle shop. or use copper grease...

My choice would be a teflon/silicon/ ptfe spray, they are not greasy as such and do not dry, I used this for the boot of my SL, you just wipe off any over spray with a cloth, they are also transparent.
