Hi Guys need some help.
When making a call either incoming or outgoing I have to turn the volume up every time. It is way lower than the radio volume. likewise when I am streaming music from my iphone 7 I have to jack up the volume, although I can turn the volume up during the call, its becoming a pain in the ass having to do it every time ..
there must be a setting for this surely. Didn't have this issue with my previous E Class coupe.
Please help.

Do a full reset on the phone and make sure it’s on the latest software

My phone is on latest software, was updated last week and rebooted. Is there not a setting somewhere on command to adjust volume for calls

Used to get this then realised the iPhone volume itself needed to be turned up

From my manual - yours may be different:

Vehicle Menu
Select System settings .
Select Volume setting .
Select one of the following volume settings:

  • Driving recommendation volume
  • Voice output volume
  • Traffic announcements vol. increase
  • Telephone volume
To select the volume setting: turn and press the controller.
To reset the settings: select Reset volume settings .

Hi guys
After some messing about I think I’ve solved the problem. John Laidlaw was closest. Turn the volume up on my phone during a call and same while streaming from amazon music and iPhone music library. I can assure everyone that my phone volume was turned up full before it was connected to the car. Will need to find out how to get the woman who hides somewhere in my command module to read me a text massage.
cheers everyone for their input.

Hi Steve
after looking though info on this Forum I can see its a common fault. Yes it was stuck at the top of the cycle. I did what a few people on here suggested, hold control lever down an give the steering wheel a good old thump. That released it I put it up and down a few times then went into steering wheel convenience setting and switched that function off. after all I can get my knee past the steering column without it moving out of my way.
Big thanks to all the dedicated people who come up with help and answers to all our issues on the Forum
