I have connected the phone via bluetooth with no problem - the issue I have is connecting the phone via a lead to the audio unit and the system doesn't recognise my iphone - does anyone have any advise or experience of this??

Thank you

Rick

ive not used a genuine 30 pin to lightening adapter - should i have used a genuine one? the one I have does charge the phone so its obviously recognising it...

you need an adapter from apple for your phone to use the lead supplied with the car.

When you say connecting your phone via a lead to the audio system, is it to play your music MP3 files through the media system? If yes, I think you need a proper interface cable to get your system to recognise it because your Mercedes media is using the latest software. Using a mere audio jack cable will not do the trick. It could be the rationale why the media system is not detecting your phone. Anyway, I stand to be corrected.

Thank you for your help I bought an Apple original adapter plug for £25 and it all works perfectly - so much for the EBay £1.95 copy...!!!!
