can anyone recommend a good independent specialist in south east Essex for servicing and stuff who won't make you bankrupt!

Also are there any good places for leather repairs. I am in the Southend-on-Sea area.

I don't know of a reliable one. Why not use the dealer? I know MB are doing discounts for older cars ? I know of a company called "trimline" for leather repairs in essex/ipswich. Don't have number though

try Mercaid , they are in Basildon, Burnt mills industrial estate, 01268 591 558, or www.mercaid.com, i've heard good things about them and they have a collection and delivery service, altho i havent used them myself yet.phil.

As SE Essex is Dartford road crossing territory......and therefore Maidstone in Kent is only 30 minutes away from Thurrock, why not use Steve? He is one of the best MB independents this side of Timbuktoo. His contact details can be found on this forum, or I am sure someone else here can tell you if you ask.
Its well worth the trip AND he wont sting you..........
