I have happily serviced/repaired my older OM603 diesel engine using the Haynes manual for capacities/torque settings etc. I've just bought a later multivalve diesel however, and the manual doesn't cover, and there isn't one that does cover this engine - does anyone know of a publication that does?

Thanks

Thanks Malcolm, the first thing is what is the engine oil capacity please? (I'll be changing the filter too).

I also want to just do a visual inspection of the fuel bleed off pipes, and generally have a nose around to make sure everything looks OK.
However I can see I will have to remove that enormous alloy inlet manifold before I can do anything. Is it just the dozen or so torx headed bolts that are visible from above holding it on or anything else hidden from view?

Thanks again

To remove the cross pipe, remove the obvious bolt that holds it to the manifold on the offside. Remove the exhaust EGR clamp and slacken the four bolts that hold the EGR assembly to the crosspipe. You may then be able to life the crosspipe out & pull off the sleeve joint to the EGR. If you can't, unbolt the EGR completely from the block. Note that two bolts are short and two are long

There's a vacuum pipe to a butterfly on the crosspipe. Don't forget it when refitting
