My EGR shunt has been in place trouble free and running perfectly for over 3,000 miles now...
A couple of weeks back i thought "I know, I'll just remove the EGR and look at my pipes" (as you do)..
I could swear they were noticeably less clogged up with gunge..
Yes they were oily but there seemed to be a lot less crud than there was..
Is it possible that the gradual oil mist sort of loosens the much and its gradually swallowed by the engine?
Or chemically does this just not happen?
Before you say "Impossible".. Here is the latest photo of my EGR valve...
Note the lack of Black chloresterol...
Notice the original photo.. That was with only 41,000 miles on !!
