Hi all
I looked at a 2002 sl500 which I am considering buying. @48k on the clock
When looking under the bonnet, I noticed an oil residue build up round a pipe ( which seemed to have a cloth like cover round some of it) which comes from the front bottom of the engine and runs nearly parallel with the front sill. Some of the residue was also on a front sill. It was only sticky to the touch and didn't appear to be fresh.the pipe was metal and about as thick as a finger.
As you can probably tell I am not at all mechanically minded as I don't even know what this pipe is, however, if anyone out there has a clue if this is a potential problem, or normal, I would be very grateful to hear from you.
