Journalists are great at telling you a story very assertively, without understanding the facts. It makes good headlines and they win awards.

The most important factor on air quality in Kensington and Chelsea is the volume of traffic and the fact that the average speed is so low, ergo the pollution levels generally are going to be high. Petrol cars use more fuel under these conditions and "government (derived) emission figures" are probably misleading.

Light load diesels (cars and vans) are not the villains of the diesel fleet. Larger vehicles, trucks and busses are. Perhaps they should not have scrapped their trolley busses and trams?

Oh yes such gas guzzlers are bad.....real bad....in fact so bad you can easily return over 600 miles to every full tank of fuel

The cite small particulates as the issue, so what about petrol engines that produce more small particulates by volume, just less by mass as they are smaller.

Hold on, isn't it the very small ones that are the problem?

Of course it's nothing to do with the vehicles becoming more popular due to paying less RFL due to being lower emitters...

This just smacks of local Council staff being ignorant and having too much power.
