Its Thursday and I have a problem

My now looking good S320 CDI 220026 ..problem started last Sunday..beautiful day a/c on but hot air coming from drivers foot well and r/h dash vent..all others cold as should be..switched upper center vent to auto and cold air rained out.. next day same again this time stoppped the engine and started up again and everything as it should be, cold from all vents.. any ideas

are the controls vaccuum operated? if so, could be a perished vac hose?

could it be a sticking duo valve

A W124 I was looking to buy had a similar problem, and the seller told me his indie had diagnosed it as 'the duo valve, simple to fix'.

I think the biggest problem on mine is finding the bleeding thing... imany thanks to all who posted, its nice to have a second, third or even fourth opinion.. again thanks

Maybe the heater flaps need normalising. Has your AC been serviced recently?

No the AC has been working fine for the past two years .new rad/condensor fitted 2yrs ago. Its a pity the flaps dont have a default setting without using star.. or does anyone know better..
Had a look at the drawings, pity they dont give the location, I think mine are hidden behind the firewall /bulkhead
