C Class Coupe C180K 2002
I need to jack up the front of my 2002 C Class Coupe C180K.

From the Haynes manual and the forums the general consensus seems to be:
- place a trolley jack on the block on the front cross member (the block pokes though the undertray)
- jack the car up then put axle stands under the forward blocks mounted on LH & RH sills where the car jack fits.

So I made a couple of hardwood blocks to fit in the sill blocks so the stands didn't damage the panels then jacked up the car, put the stands in place and gently lowered it.

But as the weight transferred from the trolley jack to the axle stands the car started to pivot on the stands so as the front came down the back went up and soon the front wheels, having been two inches off the ground were now touching it and the rear suspension was approaching full travel. Is this normal?

I suppose on the Coupe there is a more weight at the front than at the back but this did not seem right as most of the weight is now going through just two points.

Am I doing something wrong?
