Jinyu 61 Update

Apologies, I actually ordered Jinyu 61's, I asked the fitter what was the difference and he didn't know, anyone here help?

OK so they're (The 61's) on the car and it is early days but I've driven in the pooring rain about 25 miles so far......

Grip in the wet is actually quite good, normally new tyres need a hundred miles to bed in and wash off all the wax they use to release them from the moulds.... or so I've been told/read on the net.

Will report back again after a few hundred miles, let's hope they're not ditchfinders.

Thanks for the discussion guys, some really good points, some not.

The bedding in bit is important, my SL hardly got up my drive in the rain with brand new tyres.

You just have to try them, China has some appalling roads and it rains in baths never mind buckets, can't believe all the Chinese want to go bog snorkeling.

Just been out again to the supermarket, a round trip of about 35 miles, the weather in Kent is wet, windy and pretty dismal. Can't fault the tyres, grip is great, I even pressed on a bit on the way back and the front end felt really planted.

At the moment I'm actually feeling quite chuffed with myself. spent 129 pounds instead of nearly 300. In fact I was so happy I just bought the wife a nice bottle of Prosecco and some chocolates.....

Best place for it!

Only Plymouth would grant superstore planning permission right on a major arterial roundabout... with sh1te access!

Oh, and right beside a river, and sewage treatment works!

I think a case of this and a fortune cookie might have been apposite :)

I suppose if you fill the tyres with beer rather than air that may account for the bad ride. :)

I don't know...they fill (well, perhaps not fill, per se), tractor & heavy plant tyres with water for ballast... Might try it on the 63! :)

So far so good....

So, time for an update.

Done just over 1000 miles now, the weather has been a mix of downpours, icy roads and bright warm sunny afternoons.

Currently feeling quite pleased with my choice of tyre, MPG has risen to 38 from 33 but that could be due to the ambient temperature variation. The front of the car feels, well nice, my last tyres caused the car to dart around on anything that was slightly less flatter than a billiard table.

Unable to comment on wear just yet, nothing noticeable when looking at the tread blocks or depths.

Jinyu tyres may be cheap but they certainly suit my driving style.
