Hi guys, not sure if this should be in wheels or suspension, but here goes. I have just driven down to London from Norwich. All of the way I was cruising at 70 (aren't I a good girl) on Cruise Control. There seems to be a quite large amount of juddering/vibration as if the drivers side rear wheel is going over cobblestones and this seems to make the drivers seat judder. The car has been MOT'd this month. The wheel doesn't wobble when shaken.

Any ideas?

I would first check the tyre for bulges or other distortion. Take it off the car and examine it carefully. Swap it for the spare to see if there's any difference if no damage/distortion is obvious.
Having said that, has the wheel been off for the MOT? Check that the wheel studs ARE tight. (I know though that you said the wheel doesn't wobble, but do check).

Ron,

thanks for your reply. Would the wheels have been taken off for an MOT? I'm just wondering because am I right in saying that the wheels have a locating pin? I'm just thinking that the wheel may have been put on by the garage in the wrong position. Do you think that's possible? :-?

Are all your balance weights still on the wheels?

The wheels bolts seem tight and I can't see any signs of lost balance weights.

Any suggestions?

get your wheels balanced.
even if a weight has not fallen off they do go out.
