Hiya all, have just purchased a 94 C180, and new to the site, so Hiya all.

secondly, when at lights etc the idle seems to rise and fall between 500/1200rpm, any ideas?

Could it just be a timing issue or more serious?

Cheers guys

Cheers

The car in general is pretty decent, one or two minor points such as :
door retainer snapped on drivers door (£18 ebay)
Inner door sill trims missing on both front doors
rise and fall problem as described.
couple of minor rust bubbles on rear arch

but apart from that, not bad for a 15yr old, seen better, seen worse.
cheers for your help

If it is the vacum leak problem you described, is it an expensive repair?

Vacuum leaks are often just one of the small plastic pipes that have split or come off their mounting tube, they all need to be a tight fit, there are not many of them.
