Most people are on the electrics ECU etc part of forum than any other when I am on, problem with too many electrical parts now in new cars????

I have the same problem with central heating boilers with all the new condensing type...a heck of a lot more to go wrong.
Bring back cast-iron heat exchangers and a control thermostat...on second thoughts bring back rubbing 2 sticks together to make fire!!!

Very true. I repair the PCB boards for my local man. as you know some of these cost £200. when the pumps go down they can knock out several components, in the worst case I charge him £50 average about £30.
other components like the igniters cannot be bought as spare parts, so I make one board from two.

The hardest thing is that every component has to be measured as I cant bench test .
