K&N Filtercharger

Hi all,

I have a 91 230E W124, and recently changed the airfilter to the supposedly higher flow air filter from K&N. To my dissapointment, the filterchager now emit a lot of hiss .. (hehe better suction?) and it becomes irritating at times.

any suggestion? should i change to the ori? i was told that i would get at least 1bhp .. but now, due to the noise, i may be changing it back to the original benz spec.

any thoughts?

there is a lot of talk on the W140 forums about K&Ns - and how they destroy your air mass meter (oil contaminates the wire sensor)

for 1 bhp is it worth it? just replace your air filter with a new one reguarly...
