Hey

I wanted to share a bit of a side project I've been dealing with – not under the hood, but around the garage. I discovered this mouse and rat repellent spray from Amazon that got rid of a pesky rat problem without any threat to my beloved Benz and my dog Tyson.

Let me paint the scene: It's early October, leaves are falling, and somehow, rats decided that my garage – and my beloved C43 – could be their new winter condo. I first noticed gnaw marks on some rubber parts and, even worse, on the wiring. As much as I love animals, visions of chewed cables and nests in the air filters had me seeing red.

Determined not to let my car turn into a rodent's paradise, I found this spray that boasted eco-friendliness and effectiveness. Honestly, it sounded like the kind of thing you hear in a too-good-to-be-true infomercial, but desperation breeds experimentation. I began a routine – a generous spritz around the tires, near the doorways, and along the walls – anywhere a rat might think to sneak in.

It didn't happen overnight, but after a consistent week of application, the tell-tale signs of rat visitors started to dwindle. Two weeks in, and it's like they'd put my garage on their blacklist – no more droppings, no more damage.

The best part? No foul smells or chemical hazards that could damage my car parts or be a risk for my Tyson, who always chills in the garage. It's been a couple of months now, and I've turned more than a few friends onto this stuff.

So, fellow gearheads, what solutions have you driven up to keep your garage safe and your rides pristine?

Your link goes to an ultrasonic product, not a spray???

WD40 works well as mice don’t like it.

I have used a rodent plug in thingy and a liberal spraying of WD40 in the past. Now that they live outside and get used, I just use the WD40.

^ A .22 or .177 air rifle works even better;)
That.

I keep chickens and the rats are about. My
dog got a huge one last month. Sod it. So I got my rifle, a flask and laid a huge amount of bait and sat and sat. Killed 3. The only place for a rat is dead.

Use a few containers ..then half fill with baking powder , and chocolate powder. The type you use in your night time drink .Mix it up , and let it sit under the car where your dog cant get to it . Rats and mice love the nixture .But after they eat it their insides cant digest it = [blocks up inside ] --no more rats ..or get a air rifle and have some sport at the same time ..

You need a Cat. Our Burmese kill the baby rats and proudly bring them in to show us. Last time we were in the dining room with guests.

Unsurprisingly, the adult rats soon disappear.

Our farmer friend has a Jack Russell. He smokes the rats out with a smoker and the dog catches and shakes them until bits fly off.

Browns, our Burmese did exactly same thing decades ago, love another but wife has asthma.
