Key Fob

Hello guys

I am hoping this forum could help. I need a spare key fob for my C Class 220 CDI 2000 year. I have spoken to the dealer who said it will cost me £160.00.

I have seen key fobs on sale on e-bay. Can I buy this and take it to dealer to program this key fob to suit my car?

Or should i stick with the dealer option?

please advise. much appreciated

Welcome to the forum.
The only option is the dealer i,m afraid the key for your car cannot be reprogrammed to start the car.

Welcome to the Forum.

Don't be tempted by buying off eBay - they simply don't work and can't be reprogrammed by a Dealer - or anyone else.

Have you tried contacting the previous owner?

HAVING MANY YEARS MERC EXPERIENCE MYSELF I THOUGHT THIS TO BE TRUE, BUT A FEW MONTHS AGO A CUSTOMER OF MINE BOUGHT A KEY FROM EBAY AND SAID HE GOT SOMEONE TO CODE IT, I THINK HE IS TELLING PORKIES BUT I STILL CANT SEE WHY HE WOULD LIE!
I STILL THINK MERC STEALER IS THE ONLY OPTION THOUGH
