When I bought my car a few weeks ago (seems like a lifetime now...) one of the keys didn’t lock/unlock. Replaced the battery and all was well. A few days later it was flat again so changed it again. Lo and behold it’s flat again!

Has anyone had an experience like this, and more importantly, a solution!

This is not much use to you and does not give you an answer, but I had the same problem on my wife's Slk. At first I thought that the buttons maybe being pressed in her hand bag causing this, but nothing we tried fixed it. You could try a new body off Ebay incase it is a button problem, but I sympathise, as it drove me mad. It didn't make any difference weather I used cheap Poundland or Duracell batteries. We now have a different car.

Seems a little extreme, to change the car!

Mine is hung in the key cupboard with nothing touching it.

Might try a new body (and one for the key too!) and see if that works. I have that as a spare. The car starts, just can’t open it remotely.

Hi

If the dodgy key starts the car but does not open it remotely there could be loose, almost broken connection in the key. Maybe worth taking it apart, and re soldering the aerial/ antennae bit in the key.
A new body might solve the problem as suggested.
