Key problem

Hello all
I have an R reg C200 sports auto and the starter/door key has a mind of it's own, it will open the doors after many attempts, but starting the car is a no no, I have fitted new batts but it made no differance, before I go to a dealer and get the bad news, are there any ideas?

It sounds like the key is faulty..


A new key is MB only
