Key wont turn in ignition

Hi ihave a E320 with a 2 button key fob yesterday she who must be obayed said her key would not unlock doors and she nicked mine I replaced the battery and gave it back she now says that it won't turn in the ignition
I confirmed this it unlocks doors an puts radio on but can not turn to start.
She has loads of previous for dropping the car keys so I checked the coil in the key but it's still attached
Any ideas

Well get rid of the wife and as settlement give her the car with the dodgy key. win win
