Hi,
Is it possible to retrofit keyless go, or just the start/stop button function on a 2006 W220?

Thanks,
Martin

Yes you could retrofit the keyless go system,,you cannot just have a start stop button through security reason.

I have it on my SL it is one of the best extras

Not sure about your model but on the 203 it's a huge undertaking and will be very expensive. Even the most hardened Merc moders have said never again!

So, all is possible just depends how deep your pockets are! :)

It is only a £880 extra when new

Which is no real indicator of the retrofit costs! So much easier to instal when the car is being built. From a write-up I read this mod requires the removal of just about every trim part/panel.

I agree peter,,even all the door handles have to be changed, and the wiring to them. I know one firm who would never try again to do it, and I see that it has been dropped now and no longer on the list,,the same as on my car

Okay, thanks for the advice, I suspect I won't bother with that particular mod. Although I would like to use the start/stop buuton on the gear shift, even if I do have to put the key in!

Maybe I'll just change the gear shift, so I have an extra button, that doesn't do anything.

So that would take Ed China (wheel dealer mechanic bloke) about 1hr 20mins!!
