Hello
I am a newbie to this site having just purchased my first Mercedes, a '93 (Facelift model) 200TE, which is fantastic.
I have already started tinkering, which is probably something I should leave to the experts. This has lead to a small question.
The accelerator was difficult to control reversing out of our drive. After purchasing the Brooklands manual form this site, I duly adjusted the throttle cable as per the book. This solved the problem but has resulted in the auto box being relucant to shift up a gear unless you release the accelerator.
I suspect this is due to the adjustment of the throttle cable effecting the kickdown cable, but I can't find any reference to adjusting this in the manual.
Does any one know the correct adjustment method and position for the kickdown cable? BTW, the engine is a 2l 16v version.
I'd really appreaciate any assistance you can give as the wife is now moaning at me!
Thanks very much,
