CLS 320 CDI 2007 3.0 V6
Hello, everyone. Never owned a Merc before, and two days ago I bought my 2007 CLS 320 CDI. Beautiful machine, absolutely love it. Nice to join the club.

Just one problem, though: I can't reset anything on my display because the button to the left of the instrument cluster on the dash is broken! It's no longer attached to anything behind - see the photos how it either goes all the way in or pulls all the way out, without effort.

So I'm stuck with the "Reset run flat indicator" alert on my display, nor can I reset my trip computer or anything like that. Does anyone know a way to fix this without taking the dash apart? I would really hate to have to pull the lovely wood off!

Any help and guidance would be hugely appreciated.

Oh damn. Okay, let's try it from a different angle... That somewhat poorly made button sticking out of the wood has but one function: reset. To anyone's knowledge, is there any other way to input the simple command 'reset' - for example some combination of buttons on the wheel or dash console (hold so-and-so while pressing XYZ, that sort of thing)?

I think you could disconnect the battery for a while, that may need a few more things resetting afterwards like windows and steering angle sensors, but they are easily sorted within a few minutes,
The button does also get you into the secret menu for things like dyno mode and service resetting
