Hi there,
I just own low milage (documented) 1997 C220D. When cold, or if revs are close to stall, it makes a knocking kind of noise. I sounds like something (eg. exhaust) vibrates, and hits the chassis. The garage where I bought it has checked all the obvious, but can't find the problem.
It is not that the neighbours wake up, but for a car like this, I think it must have a reason / must be possible to solve. Any similar experience or ideas?
