Knocking sound from front end`

I'm getting a single knocking noise from the front axle when the suspension compresses or when I initially apply the brakes.
Any ideas?

but there's nothing there when I click on this problem.

I would check the anti roll bar bushes at the front....they wear quite badly and are often the source of clonking from the front ends of W124's....they are cheap and easy to replace.

I'm having the same problem and was told it may be the strut mount. Do you think that's a possibility as well before I spend a fortune on replacing them?
